Coach Dave Bryant is in his 7th season at Central Christian College. In 2001, he was the women's assistant, 2002 he was the men's assistant varsity and head JV, 2003-2005 he was both men's and women's assistant varsity coach. Last Year, in Bryant's first year as head coach for the Lady Tigers, he led them to a national funner-up finish in the NCCAA with an overall record of 27-11.
Coach Bryant's family is very supportive in the Lady Tiger Basketball Program. His wife, Jody, helps prepare Sunday team dinners and is never afraid to share her coaching philosophies. Coach Bryant has three children. His oldest daughter, Theresa, is a four-year varsity player for CCC. His son, James, died in a car accident in 2005 and now, all his players wear "Buddy" bands in his memory. And last, but not least, is MaryBeth. The biggest CCC fan in the world, she attends every home game with her face painted and tries to skip school as much as possible to join the ladies on the road.
At CCC, our philosophy is to always put God first. The ladies' team verse is 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline." Coach Bryant challenges all prospective players, "If you want to challenge your body, mind and soul and play in an up-tempo offense and an in-your-belly defense, have fun and give the glory to God, come join us at Central Christian College."
