This week’s featured athlete is Nate Patterson, the starting left fielder for the Central Christian College baseball team. Patterson, a 5’7” sophomore who lists his hometown as Cleveland, Ohio, has been swinging a hot bat as of late for the Tigers, helping the team to four wins in their last five outings. In those five games, Patterson hit .411, going 7 for 17 with 5 singles and a pair of homeruns, the first of his Tiger career.
Since joining the Tigers as a freshman last season, Nate has started in the outfield in 83 of 84 games. He has 82 starts in leftfield, and one in centerfield. He has amassed 112 putouts and one assist in one and a half seasons, and has a .919 fielding percentage. At the plate, he is a career .275 hitter with 75 hits in 273 at bats. This season his average is up a few points at .283.
When he is not on the baseball diamond, his favorite hobby is playing paintball.
