The Lady Tigers Softball Team travelled to Lawrence on Tuesday to play Haskell Indian Nations University. They went in hoping to get their first MCAC win of the season but were unable come away with a victory.
In game one the Lady Tigers had two poor innings where they gave up a lot of runs that cost them a 13-5 loss. Freshman
Autumn Williams was on the hill for the Lady Tigers. She gave up 13 runs on 16 hits. She struck out one and walked a batter in 5 2/3 innings of work.
Central recoreded 5 runs on 11 hits. They were led offensively by
Destinee Stephenson who was 2-2 with an RBI, and
Krista Bohnenblust and
Samantha Wilson who were both 2-3 with a run scored. The game was lost defensively as the Lady Tigers recorded 5 fielding errors.
In game two the Lady Tigers' bats went cold and the Lady Indians picked up where they left off in game one. CCC could only manage one hit, a single by
Krista Bohnenblust in the 4th inning. Haskell scored 9 runs on 14 hits and two Central errors.
CCC is now 4-21 on the season. They travel to Bethany College on Friday for a double header with the Lady Swedes.
