Central Christian College Alum, Ivory Washington, from Killeen, Texas was a former Tigers soccer player who has "made it big". It is a lot of little kids fantasies and dreams to make it to the big leagues or pros but not a lot of people get that rare opportunity. Washington has received the opportunity to live out that childhood dream.
Washington was a very strong center midfielder for the Tigers in the 10'-12' soccer seasons making a pretty big impact on the team. He talked many times about the chance to go pro or make it big. Washington went to several combines and made contacts during his years at Central. The hard work finally paid off as Washington was offered a deal with the Wichita Wings. The Wings are an MISL team (Major Indoor Soccer League). Washington was selected to attend an All-Star Combine and was one of the few out of a 100 players to automatically get picked up by an MISL team.
Washington thought home would be in Wichita for sure but little did he know that the Rochester Lancers out of New York had big things planned for him. Washington recently made a flight up to New York fully covered by the Lancers. As of October 27, 2012 Washington has signed a deal with the Rochester Lancers for the next season! In speaking with Ivory about the whole situation, it is pretty amazing. Washington will make a nice salary and have a lot of his personal items covered by the Lancers. Getting to know, as well as be a roommate of a now, "star" is pretty special. Speaking with Ivory he has mentioned that it was no easy task at all and that the practices are very grueling and demanding but he is loving every minute of the "once in a lifetime opportunity".
