If you were unable to come out and watch the CCC Tiger volleyball team play at home tonight against the Waldorf College Vikings, you missed some exciting volleyball. And though the Tigers were defeated by the Vikings 12-25, 18-25m 10-25, the Tigers hung tough, and fought hard through the entire match.
The Tigers recorded 21 team kills, led by Angela Jamison who was 6 for 28 with 5 errors. Right behind Jamison were Victoria McCord and Samantha Dahl with 4 kills each. On the defensive side, the Tigers recorded 3 blocks. Two blocks were assisted, recorded by Audra Howell, and Angela Jamison. The third block was a solo block by Victoria McCord. Samantha Dahl led the team in defensive digs with 12. Of the 21 Tiger attacks that resulted in kills, 18 of them were assisted. Freshman Kaitlyn Metz led the team in assists with 13. The Tigers also served the ball very well. CCC had only 2 serving errors while recording 3 aces, one each by Audra Howell, Kaitlyn Metz, and Kathryn Lott.
The loss drops the Tigers to 1-23 on the season, and 0-11 in MCAC play. They get one more shot at a conference win when they hit the hardwood again tomorrow afternoon against College of St. Mary. Game time is scheduled for 1:00 pm. It is the final home game of the season for the Tigers. The game will be streamed on the Tiger website http://www.ccctigers.com/.
