The Tiger baseball team, under first year head coach Justin Cunningham, gets their season underway today with a scrimmage against the Oklahoma Grays. The Grays are a High School Showcase team whose players come from all over Oklahoma. They are coached by Jerry Henshall whose son plays baseball for Oklahoma Wesleyan. Henshall and Coach Cunningham met last year at when Cunningham was an assistant at Wesleyan. When Cunningham took over as skipper of the Tiger baseball program he thought playing the Grays in a scrimmage would be a great way to get his young Tiger squad some experience this fall as well as an opportunity to do some recruiting. The Tigers and Grays are scheduled to begin play this morning at 10:00 am in Moundridge. Weather and time permitting, they are hoping to get in several 7 inning games today.

Next Saturday, the Tigers will take the field again, this time against a club team from Kansas State Salina. K-State Salina has just recently begun to add several athletic teams and is looking at possibly joining the MCAC in the near future. The Tigers and Wildcats will be playing at 10:00 am out at Light Capitol baseball diamond.

Coach Cunningham has brought efficiency and discipline to the Tiger baseball program, and there is a lot of excitement surrounding this year's team. They have been practicing together for five weeks now are itching to get out there and get started.
