McPherson, KS - May 23, 2012 - Ciara Alderson, a 5'7 ½" senior forward from Nickerson, Kansas, has inked a letter of intent to play women's basketball at Central Christian College next season. Alderson is a three year letter winner at Central Christian High School for head coach Erin Patrick. According to Coach Patrick, Alderson was a mainstay for the Cougar team that made it to the KSHAA Division 1-A championship game this past March. She averaged 10 points and 7 rebounds this season and in the state championship game she recorded a double double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. She was 1st Team All-League in the Heart of the Plains League and was also Honorable Mention All-State.

CCC's Coach Lancaster believes Alderson will be a great addition to the Tiger program saying, "Ciara is a very hard worker and good athlete.She has had a terrific high school career and we are excited to add her to our program."

In addition to her accolades and prowess on the hardwood, Alderson is also a very good student in the classroom. She has carried a 3.75 cumulative high school GPA. Ciara is the daughter of Loren and Rose Alderson of Nickerson, Kansas. She plans on pursuing a Pre Physical Therapy degree while attending CCC. She will report to campus in late August to begin working out with her new teammates.
