The CCC baseball team lost a pair of double headers on the road this past weekend against Central Baptist College. The Tigers lost the first two games of the series on Friday 5-10, and 3-7. On Saturday the teams squared off again and the Mustangs swept the series with 3-2 and 7-1 wins. Channing Newland, Austin Penn, Jay Banks, and Johnnie Nieves started the four games, and took the losses. In the four games, the Tiger offense hit the ball pretty well. CCC recorded 25 total hits in the series, 24 of those hit were singles, and the other was a double by Jay Banks. Damon Smith, Jr. and Troy Richter each had a pair of hits in the first game of the series. In the second game on Friday, five different Tigers each recorded hits, all singles.

In the first game on Saturday, the closest game of the series, the Tigers offense managed seven hits. Lance Marks and Steven Abbott each had two hits in the 2-3 loss. In the final game of the series, the offense managed six hits, but the defense gave up three errors in the 1-7 loss. Jay Banks led the Tigers going 2 for 3 with a single and a double.

The Tigers fell to 3-38 on the season and 0-12 in the MCAC. They are back in action at home this weekend against Oklahoma Wesleyan University in a four game series beginning Friday afternoon 4:00 at the Grant Complex. The first pitch on Saturday is scheduled for 12:00 pm.
