Men's Tennis - Thu, Mar. 15, 2012

The Tiger men suffered a defeat on Wednesday in an exhibition match with Hesston College 3-6. The Larks are a good team, and head Coach Jeron Baker has done a nice job getting them ready to play. The Tiger wins came from Mark Gayer and Ivory Washington at #1 doubles 9-8 (7-5), Ivory Washington at #3 singles 6-2, 7-6 (7-4), and David Armstrong at #6 singles 6-0, 6-1.

Coach Nelson commented on the loss saying, "I take credit for this loss. I mixed up our line up a bit, and I underestimated Hesston a little. Take nothing away from Hesston, they have a very nice team with a couple of guys that we will try and recruit to play here in the future. We just didn't play our best tennis, and the Larks did."

The Tigers head to Salina for an individual tournament on Friday. Schools participating are CCC, Hesston, Colorado Christian, and Kansas Wesleyan. The Tournament will be played at Oak Dale Park beginning at 9:00 am.
