The CCC women's basketball team dropped two more conference games on the road this weekend. The Tigers were swept by Central Baptist College, and College of the Ozarks. On Friday the ladies fought hard but lost by 16 to the CBC Mustangs 41-57. The Tigers only trailed the Mustangs by five at the break, 23-28. The Mustangs held the Tigers to just 18 second half points and outscored them by 11 to win comfortably.

As she has done several times already this season, junior guard Sarah came off the bench to lead the Tigers in scoring. Hawthorne was 6 of 11 from the floor including three 3-pointers to lead the way with 16 points. The next highest scorer for the Tigers was Krystina Powell with 7 points. Leading scorer Samantha Graves was held to just 4 points on 2 of 10 shooting from the field. She did, however, do a nice job on the glass, grabbing 6 rebounds.

On Saturday the Tigers ran into the juggernaut that is the College of the Ozarks Lady Bobcats. In the words of Coach Lancaster, "we were seriously overmatched today". The Bobcats are well balanced, have good depth, and have a lot of experience. It definitely showed on Saturday as they defeated the Tigers 94-28.

The Bobcats were relentless from the get go racing out to a 49-11 halftime lead. The Tigers struggled to get their offense going in the first half, but managed to do a little better in the second half. Sophomore Harley Pate was the only Tiger to score in double figures. Pate was 4 of 8 from the floor and 2 of 2 from the free throw line for 11 points. Rachel Graves was the next leading scorer with 5 points.

The Tigers are now 6-14 on the season and 0-5 in the MCAC. They travel to College of St. Mary next Friday and then finish up their 5 game road swing with York on Saturday.
