The Tiger Baseball team dropped their first conference games of the season to Okalahoma Wesleyan University on Thursday night 6-14 and 7-12. CCC is starting find out a little more about themselves as a team. In both games on Thursday they hit the ball well and were able to push runs across the plate they just had a couple of defensive lapses that opened things up for OWU. If they can start putting everything together on a consistent basis they will make some noise the rest of the way this season.
Offesively in game one, the Tigers were led by sophomores
Micah Womacks and
Wade Wedow who both went 2-4. Collectively the team had 11 hits unforutnately they weren't able string enough hits together, and left too many runners on base.
Wade Wedow continued his impressive offensive performance in game two. He was 3-3 with a homerun and 4 RBIs.
Coach Marsh commented, "In both games we didn't quit, We pushed 4-5 runs near the end of the games to make things respectful. We continue to plague ourselves with critical defensive lapses at key points in the game!"
The Tigers are now 5-13 on the year and 0-2 in the MCAC. They play another double header with OWU today beginning at 11:30 am at light cap.
