The CCC women's soccer team lost another close game on Saturday night to the Tabor College Blue Jays. The Blue Jays defeated the Tigers in overtime 2-1. The game was scoreless for the first half. Tabor took a 1-0 lead early in the 2nd half on a shot from the top of the 18 yard box that somehow slipped through Bri Horstmann's hands.
The Tigers tied things up late in the half on a corner kick. Stephanie Street bent the ball around and over the goal keepers head and into the back of the net. Things remained knotted at 1 for the resst of the game. In the first sudden death overtime period, the Blue Jays ended the game on a rebound shot off the hands of Amanda Curtis.
Tabor held the edge in shooting 22-8 forcing Bri Horstmann to make numerous saves in goal. Coach Reimer commented on the loss saying, "Tough loss tonight. Just when the game is going well, we have another GK mistake. We bounced back well but just could not push into the win column."
The loss drops the Tigers to 1-8 on the season. They are home again next Wednesday against Mac College. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:30 pm.
