The CCC men's soccer team won their second game in a row with a 3-1 victory over the Southwestern Mound Builders. The Mound Builders scoredjust six minutes into the game to take a 1-0 lead. The Tigers responded quickly and Ronnie Rocha found the back of the net off an assist from Stephen Craig. In the second half, all of the offense came from the Tigers. Senior midfielder Rex Price scored the game winner in the 71st minute with the assist going to Ronnie Rocha. The Tigers added an insurance goal in the 84th minute on a very pretty combination. Kenny Cann played a cross in from the right side. Grant Rardon headed the ball across the goal mouth and Ronnie Rocha headed the ball past the goal keeper.

The Tigers dominated the possession in all three parts of the field forcing the Builders to try and play balls over the top of the Tiger defense. The Tigers doubled up the Mound Builders in shots 22-11 and took 5 corners to the Builders 1. Grant Rardon started the game in the goal and was replaced early in the first half by David Armstrong. Rardon and Armstrong each had 2 saves in the win.

Coach Ouren commented on his team's performance saying, "Southwestern is a much improved side. While they are a young team they are dangerous and have a lot of talent. In the midst of some changes I was proud of our teams' effort throughout the 90 minutes. We never really backed down nor allowed the game to get out of control evidenced by two late goals. As always we are pleased to earn another victory but must turn our attention towards Tabor on Saturday." Ouren also lauded the offensive play of Ronnie Rocha, and the defensive play of Grant Rardon and David Armstrong.

The win gives the Tigers a 5-2 record. They are home again on Saturday night when they will be tested again by the Tabor College Blue Jays. The men's game follows the women's game and is slated to start at 8:00 pm.
