The CCC women travelled to Sterling to play the Sterling College Warriors, members of the KCAC conference. The Tigers were coming of a tough loss on Saturday to Bethel College, another member of the KCAC. Unfortunately things continued to be rough for the Tigers as the Warriors were just too much for the young Tigers.
The Warriors scored first, just 3 minutes into the first half. The Tigers evened things up 3 minutes later when
Krystina Powell dribbled the ball to the corner and played a ball across the middle of the box. The ball went off the keeper's hands and
Bri Horstmann was there to head the ball in. That was the highlight of the night for the Tigers as they would spend the rest of the game chasing the Warriors. Sterling scored 2 more in the first half and then added a pair of goals in the 2
nd half for a 5-1 victory.
Of his team's performance Coach Reimer said, "Injuries have changed us this season. We continue to play without a couple of key players each game. Tonight was a humbling experience. Our focus from here on out will be to get better each game."
The Tigers are now 1-3 on the season. They now have to regroup and prepare for a weekend trip to Texas to play NCAA DIII McMurray University on Friday, and Texas Wesleyan University on Saturday.
