The Lady Tiger softball team played their first games at home on Wednesday with a double header against Dordt College. Dordt handed the Lady Tigers a pair of losses 14-4 and 10-7.

In the first game, Kylie Damm was on the mound to start the game for the Lady Tigers. She pitched 4 innings giving up 6 runs , striking out 4 and walking 3. Meaghan Bombach-Reamey came in for two innings of relief. She gave up the other 8 runs, struck out 1 and walked 4.

Offensively the Lady Tigers'4 runs came on 6 hits. MacKenzie Hobbs had a nice game from the plate. She was 2 for 3 with a run scored.The Lady Tiger defense hurt themselves with 5 errors for the game.

In the second game Dordt jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first two innings. CCC responded with 5 runs in the 4th and 2 more in the 5th to cut the deficit to 7-8. Dordt tacked on 2 more insurance runs in the 7th to win 10-7. Autumn Williams was on the hill for CCC and took the loss. She gave up 10 runs on 9 hits, struck out 2, and walked 1.

CCC had 9 hits of their own led by Krista Bohnenblust who was 2 for 4 with a double, 3 RBIs, and a run scored. Charlie Staab was 1 for 2 with 2 walks, a double, and 2 runs scored. The losses drop the Lady Tigers to 0-16 on the season. They go back on the road this weekend for a tournament at Sterling College.
