Wichita, KS – The Central Christian College track and field team had one last tune up before next week's NCCAA National Outdoor Championships being hosted by Oklahoma Baptist University.

On Friday the Tigers were at Wichita State University for the Shocker Open, their last regular season meet of the spring. The Tigers ran well, against stiff competition, in their tune up for Nationals next week. Below is a summary of the event from Central head coach Mike Anderson.

Today was a great day for a track meet!  This is the first time all outdoor season we have had great weather for the meet.  Today was the perfect tune-up for NCCAA Nationals next week.

Paris Jacobs ran extremely well in the 100m and 200m placing well in both and improving on her nationally ranked times in both events.  Joe Capuchino also ran well with a 4th place finish in the 300m steeplechase.  The womens 4x100 placed 3rd and continues to improve every week.  I believe they have a good shot to be in the national final for the 4x100 relay.  Tristen Johnson ran an excellent race in the 400m, running a PR 52.98.

I am glad we were able to go against a NCAA D1 team this week, as it really prepared us for what we need to do to prep for Nationals!

The Tigers will be heading down to Shawnee, Oklahoma next Thursday, and the Championships will get underway on Friday.
