McPherson, KS - July 5, 2012 - Central Christian CollegePresident Hal Hoxie is pleased to announce that Chad Kerr has been named the newAthletic Directorfor Central Christian College. Kerr will oversee an athletics program consisting of 14 varsity athletic teams. Kerr will also stay in his current role as Head Softball Coach.

Kerr was hired as Head Softball Coach in December 2011 and completed a successful first season in the rebuilding of the Lady Tiger Softball program. "I am thrilled and honored to have been named Athletic Director and to continue the positive direction of the Athletics program at Central. This is a talented and dedicated group of coaches and I look forward to working alongside them for years to come."

Prior to joining the Central family in December 2011, Kerr worked in the business world while at the same time staying close to athletics. Kerr has over 11 years coaching experience, mainly in softball, in both Iowa, and most recently, coaching at various levels of the very competitive select/travel softball in Texas.

Kerr started in his additional role as AD on June 25 and stated, "I am anxious to bring the experience I have from the business world, administration, marketing, and fundraising, to go along with my athletic and coaching background to help make Central Christian's athletic department one of the best in the nation. I can't say thank you enough to former AD Melvin Sanders for considering me as a possible replacement and President Hal Hoxie for believing in me and giving me this chance." President Hoxie commented on the hiring of Kerr to lead CCC athletics saying, "I am excited about this hire, as it will give us an opportunity to continue many of the tasksthat we've begun with little deviation."

Kerr recently relocated from Flower Mound, Texas to McPherson with hiswife Kimberly, daughters Kiley 16, Chelsey 14, and son Koby 12.
