McPherson, KS - May 17, 2012 - 5'6" senior utility player, Cailyn Spiker from Montrose, IA has signed a letter of intent to play for the CCC softball team next spring. Spiker, a three year letter winner at Central Lee High School, played for high school coach Darrell Krehbiel.
CCC head softball coach Chad Kerr has plans for Cailyn all over the field. "Cailyn is the type of Student Athlete we look for, good in the classroom and good on the field. Cailyn is a Utility player who will fill multiple roles for us and brings some much needed speed to the lineup. I look for great things from Cailyn and can't wait to get her on campus next Fall and start her in work outs."
Spiker hold her own in the class room as well. While in high school she has maintained a 3.46 GPA. Cailyn is the daughter of Juliene and Alfred Spiker of Montrose, IA. She is undecided as to what degree track she will pursue while attending Central beginning next fall.
