Tiger Softball Signs Perez

McPherson, KS - April 25, 2012 - 5'1" senior center fielder Jacquelyn Perez from Sequin, TX has signed a letter of intent to play for the CCC softball team next spring. Perez, a two year letter winner at Canyon High School, played her high school ball for Coach Kevin Randle. She also plays club softball for head coach Stacy Kindles. Perez's best success has come with her club softball team where she is a career .475 hitter, and their team was a Soutwest Regional finalist.

Coach Kerr plans on using Jacquelyn primarily in center field, but she could also see some time in the infield. "Jacqueline is a SS/CF who will spend most of her time in the outfield for us. She hits for average and is very solid defensively and I anticipate her jumping right in and contributing quickly as a Freshman. They play some serious softball in the state of Texas and I look forward to seeing Jacqueline in action with the Lady Tigers and showing these skills."

Perez is a standout in the classroom as well as the softball diamond. Jacquelyn will graduate from high school maintaining a 3.209 GPA. Jacquelyn is the daughter of Doris and J.R. Perez of Sequin, Tx. She plans on pursuing a degree in Sports Management while at Central.
