The CCC women's tennis team wrapped up their season on Saturday with a pair of losses to Southwestern College an John Brown University. The Tigers were defeated by Southwestern 7-2. The two wins came at the #1 doubles and #1 singles spot. The #1 doubles team of Kristen Reith and Tori McCord got up 4-1 in their match and seemed to be cruising. They then lost 4 games straight to go down 4-5. The teams then went back and forth and eventually went to a tiebreaker. The Tigers came out on top 9-8 (7-3). Kristen Reith got the other point for the Tigers at the #1 singles position 6-1, 6-1.
In the afternoon match, the Tigers were defeated by the John Brown University Eagles 8-1. The lone Tiger win came from Kristen Reith at the #1 singles spot. Reith dominated her match just like she did against the same opponent on Monday and won with the same score 6-1, 6-1.
Coach Nelson summed up the season this way, "I was extremely blessed to coach this group of ladies. They are quality young women and they worked extremely hard. The progress they have made in the last two years has been amazing."
