The CCC softball team dropped a pair of conference games at home on Tuesday to the Southwestern Christian University Eagles 1-3, and 0-6. Mallory Smith took the loss in game 1, pitching all seven innings, and giving up three runs on ten hits. She struck out four batters and walked none. The Tigers gave up two runs in the top of the third inning and a final run in the top of the seventh. The lone Tiger run came in the bottom of the fourth. The Tiger offense came up with seven hits, but just couldn't find a way to put more runs across. Hannah Martin and Shawna Hash both had a multi-hit game at the plate. The other three hits came from Brooklynn Lemons, Jordan Stewart, and Angela Jamison.
In the second game, the Tiger bats went cold. Kylie Damm got the start for the Tigers and took the loss. Damm pitched five innings giving up five runs on nine hits. She walked two and struck out zero. Deriree Yandell came on in relief in the sixth inning. She faced six batters, gave up one run on zero hits. On the offensive side, the Tigers managed only three hits in the night cap. Brooklynn Lemons, Shawna Hash, and Dana Dean had the only hits, all were singles.
The losses drop the Tigers to 2 and 34 on the season. They have a couple days off before a weekend road trip to York College on Friday and Haskell Indian Nations University on Saturday. Friday games are slated for 4:00 and 6:00 pm and the games on Saturday will be played at 12:00 and 2:00.
